Hi Experts,
We are using portal 7.0 version.
If we are creating a request in one of the application from portal then we are able to view the PDF file along with data and through SOST tcode from SAP system also.at that time also we are receiving one mail along with pdf file in Out look with requested data. but we are not able to open the pdf file due to below attached screen shot.
Please let me know what is the issue.

I know how to lock the user through UMI API's in Logon page applications.But this is when user try to login attempted that time possible.
Is there a way to automatically lock inactive users after certain number of days in portal system ? or any configuration..? or any Job Scheduler.

Hi All,
I have a requirement to integrate page "Universal Workilist - Administration" as 'READ-ONLY" into a custom role (say : portal.role.support) which I can give to users.
Portal version is 7.4 SP9.
The following changes I have done so far in portal.role.support: -
After doing the above steps I could see the "Universal Workilist - Administration" in "portal.role.support".
But the content inside is modifiable. I want all the contents inside this read-only.
Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Hi ESS/MSS/Portal Experts,
I am seeking an urgent assistance from you please here for the issue which we are facing for Global employees whilst accessing there UWL.
We are struggling since 20 days to fix this issue however no luck yet.
500 Internal error
Application error occurred during request processing
This below error occurs for all managers whilst approving the leave request
We did below analysis and took actions before posting this on SCN:
* We did deleted UWL cache and expired workitems.
* Checked SWu3 config - all components are activated.
* Checked all relevant RFC and JCo - all are activated.
* Re-registered UWL connection.
* Checked all RFC users - none were faulty but we re-assigned it.
As per error log, I assume this error is coming because of some or other system users but we are not able to figure it out.
Looking forward to have expert inputs from your end - let me know if I need to provide some additional info.

Hi Expert,
we have a requirement where notification emails need to to sent to user on Logon help(Password reset). We have configured SMTP host in UME Configuration as per the help document Configuring E-Mail Notification - Identity Management - SAP Library
But we are not getting any emails in user mailboxes.
Please provide any helpful pointers.

Hi Experts,
We have a scenario where we are using two data sources for maintaining our Users(SAP Portal 7.0).
1)User base A uses Portal DB
2)User base B uses ABAP as User repository.
Is there any way to configure the Portal UME to use the above 2 different datasources?
Or can any one please suggest the best possible option to optimize the use of data sources and work smartly.

I have an abstract portal component (SetURL) in which I am trying to read and then set a particular property of an iView (ITSecWPC).
Both the 'SetURL' component and the 'ITSecWPC' iview are added to the same page in portal.
Can someone please suggest some API or code snippet which I can use to read/write the iView properties in the portal application?

Hi Friends,
When the published News link clicked, it changes from Bold to Normal font indicating the it has read by the user.
This feature is working in SAP Portal 7.0, But it is not working in Portal 7.4.
Can anybody help me, where to configure the 'Read' status of the Published News.
Attached the screen where, evenhough the news item is read it is not changing to 'Read' status in the properties.

We have recently implemented ESS/MSS portal and we are at NW 7.4 using WDA roles, trying to launch services on portal.
Before explaining my issue here, would like to mention I am a functional consultant and quite new to portal stuffs but since I am carrying this activity on my own, I need your assistance to get it through.
In order to launch WDA services, we have activated relevant business functions and have uploaded PFCG ESS and MSS roles to portal.
To access the ESS services, I followed below process:
I had initially assigned Z copy of standard SAP ESS roles for WDA "pcd:portal_content/Z_SAP_EMPLOYEE_XX_ESS_WDA_3"(PFCG role uploaded to Portal) - This was showing me different look and feel of ESS but I was able to launch my all ESS services successfully. But when I was changing anything launch pad - Role:ESS Instance: Menu, nothing was reflecting over ESS portal and hence I raised this thread on SCN.
I have made record time invisible but still it is not getting hidden from ESS portal.
Then
Later I assigned Employee standard ESS role "pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.wda.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.wda.roles/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.wda.Employee_Self_Service_WDA" (Role got from Portal content under admin)
I could see my launchpad changes are reflecting on ESS portal and now I can hide the services I do not want.
But now I am struggling with services which are not getting open - nothing I can do . Some linking node is missing I think.
So main Challenge is to understand the link of ESS/MSS roles and related launchpad.
If I have uploaded PFCG roles and same role is assigned to user,why standard launch pad is not working for it.
If I am using standard ESS role from portal content, launchpad changes are reflecting but none of the services are getting.

I have deleted the PCD Folder "Portal Users" in productive Portal by mistake.
Then I have imported the whole Folder from test Portal. But now the Ajax Framework page does not work proper.
There is nothing displayed in the area for roles also Folders (Top Level Navigation).
Can anybody help me?

Currently we are displaying some text from Portal iview description in overview page. The content of text is as below.
"These training courses have minimum number of attendees. To book,please log a call in customerportal. When booking - in `Subject' type - SAP Training Course Booking Include your contact information, course details and date."
The requirement is to make the word customerportal from above text as hyper link where in by clicking this word should take us to that portal url.
We have tried using HREF <a href = "www.portal.com" > customerportal </a> tags but it is not working as expected and in turn those tags are displayed as text.
can you please suggest a solution for this requirement.

We have some old custom java code which must be generating code which is more than 65K. There is a FIX for SUNJAVA to increase jsp.bigmode.delimit.size. But we are using SAP JVM and wanted to where to set that size.
or this can be a upgrade issue with SP12. The Application works well with SP04 and has no issues. Anyone has fix for this error as this is bombing on each page of MSS.
