Universal Work List iView not loading (for single user)

Hi

I have come across some strange behaviour with our Universal Worklist, for one user. However, as I am not particularly familiar with UWL configuration I'd like some expert input.

The situation is:

  • NWCE 7.31 SP9
  • This is a test system
  • We are using SAP BPM and the tasks in the UWL relate to steps in these workflows
  • The BPM NWCE server and the Portal server are the same instance.
  • We have a number of test users configured, all created at the same time and ostensibly created in the same way.
  • One user's UWL stopped appearing approximately 1.5 weeks ago several weeks after we started successfully using this account.
  • We have not identified this problem with any other user (yet?)

By "stopped appearing", I do not mean "There are no tasks in the UWL". I mean, theiView pane simply remains empty, with none of the UWL artifacts appearing.

  • There is no indication that there is any processing or loading occurring (no rotating wheels or sand-timers).
  • There are no errors shown to the end user.
  • There are no errors that I can identify using Front End web-development tools
  • There are no errors in the NWA logs, either for the user or for the UWL application (tc~kmc~bc.uwl.ui~wd_ui)
  • Under "session management: Resource Consumption" in NWA, I can see application "/webdynpro/resources/sap.com/tc~kmc~bc.uwl.ui~wd_ui" running for this user. It appears identical as for users for whom UWL is appearing.
  • The user's security appears to be fine and I can find no fundamental difference to the other users. Certainly, the user has the basic roles like BPEM End User.
  • The Portal navigation options to select the UWL are visible to this user.
  • We cannot attribute the change in UWL behaviour to any system change or update. We've not been editing the UWL configuration.
  • I have tried IE and Firefox. The account has been logged on to via several different laptops. CTRL+F5 has been used to try to clear any cache.
  • We have let the session run for hours, to see if - eventually - some UWL content would load.

My hypothesis is that there is a problem with a task for this user, but I don't understand why I don't get the UWL or any errors.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks

Andy
