We are migrating from 7.02 Portal to 7.4. After migrating the PAR to EARs we are having a problem with one of our portal applications. This application has a Download to Excel button which when clicked retrieves some information from ECC, stores this information in a session variable then launches another window to another custom Portal component. The new window portal component looks in the session for this excel data variable, but it is not found. I have debugged and I see the excel data in the session from the first portal component, but when debugging reaches the second portal component the session does not have the variable.
This all works in 7.02. Is there some portal configuration that would cause the portal to lose the session variables? The session IDs looks the same in the debugger too. Any help would be appreciated.
