In leave request the field need to be place as mandatory field.

Dear SAP gurus,

Now i am using portal 7.3.As per the client new requirement in ESS in leave request the field "Note for approver" need to be place as mandatory field which is optional by default.

For this i went to iview in ess role and select the filed  " Note for approver " in leave request,right click on filed and change the status property as " Requried".After doing this activity the filed showing that it is mandatory but the user can apply the leave with out giving any data in the filed " note for approver "

Please help me to come out from this problem.
