Search for users assigned to a group based on a specific string

Hi,

I have a scenario,where there are very large number of Users assigned to a Group.I need to search for users matching specific criteria like a*.

We can search for all users based on this criteria or we can search for users assigned to a group.how do we combine

both of this .
