We are experiencing intermittent issues with Portal Navigation on systems having IE8 and it works fine on other browsers including IE9.
Problem Description:
We have a Role with 8 worksets and each workset is associated with separate page. Each page is associated with around 10 iViews. In one of the iView we have couple of buttons, when user clicks on one of the button, we are using EPCM.doNavigate method to open another page in the portal content area.
This works fine from some machines, but it navigates back to first role in TLN on some machines. It is observed only on machines having IE8.
All iViews are based on JSP DynPage components.
EP version is 7.0
Observations:
- Observed 500 response code in HttpWatch while accessing desktop inner page
- There is a flickering effect on browser when this is happening
- Page to be opened in the content area is having around 13 IViews and 9 are important ones. When we add only 2 iViews out of 9 to Page, it works fine.
- When we open al page in external window (By passing mode value as 1 in EPCM.doNavigate method) , it works fine.
- Also we have removed all other iViews from page except those important 9 iViews, still it is failing.
- It looks request is first navigating to SAP Portal homepage then to the target page.
- We also commented all backend calls in those 9 iViews and kept only UI, still there is no positive response.
Any thoughts on this issue would be a great help.
